"The reason for our sponsorship is mainly that “the initiative by the VC is a good cause and we as Tsebo Outsourcing Group, identify with that. It speaks to one of our key drivers of being a responsible corporate citizen and helping in Job creation and skills development. By contributing to this cause, we will be helping 2 students to get the required education/skills thereby ensuring that they progress to be part of a skilled labour force."
We, at Bidvest Protea Coin are proud to be associated with this noble initiative. We chose Base camp 4 as we too align to these goals both within Bidvest Protea Coin as well as to that of our country. We aim to make a difference in the lives of students that are touched by this initiative; that through this enabling summit, a dream can be realised and a difference can be made.
As Derrick Swartz, NMMU Vice Chancellor embarks on a personal pilgrimage summit Mount Fuji, Bidvest Protea Coin wishes you a safe climb and salutes this noble cause.

“Liberty’s involvement in this initiative speaks to our vested interest in changing young people’s realities through education. Through our corporate social investment in education, we know what a difference such an opportunity provides not only to our youth, but more importantly, our continent. By investing in education we open the door to more opportunities that can evolve into successful careers; skills development and grooming future leaders in business, our communities and governments.”

We view Aspen SED as a strategic business imperative and this Mt Fuji expedition by (Prof) Derrick Swartz in raising funds for students who cannot afford university fees, really goes a long way in boosting our confidence that we are indeed on the right path with our participation.

DONATION: R75 000
“As a partner to NMMU and many other institutions across the country in the provision of conducive living and learning environments, we are acutely aware of the increasing number of financially needy and academically deserving students who fail to secure sufficient funding to continue or commence their studies. It seems unfair and cruel that the simple lack of financial means prevents thousands of students who have qualified for tertiary studies at institutions as prestigious as NMMU despite overcoming overwhelming odds in many cases, are subjected to the continued generational cycle of unemployment and poverty.
Ours is but a small contribution to the Bursary Legacy Campaign and we have made an even smaller dent on the plight of the thousands of students in need annually. However our contribution to this campaign, as with our other CSI initiatives, is done with the belief and understanding that meaningful change to this nation starts with empowering, giving hope and opportunities to an individual.
We applaud and are inspired by both the physical challenge Prof Swartz is taking on and the cause that he is championing. We are honoured to be part of this campaign and we hope that the ascent to the peak of Mount Fuji brings a much needed spotlight to this very important national issue and it compels individuals, corporate citizens and the nation to act.”
DONATION: R10 000

DONATION: R15 000
